What happens when a spark never becomes a flame?
STF x MCM SS25

THE SPACE BETWEEN US
Two strangers notice each other and slowly grow closer. Small moments create curiosity, attraction and hope.
One person starts imagining what this connection could become.
But the feelings are not equal.
While one person falls deeper, the other begins to pull away. What once felt exciting becomes uncertain.
Still, the hope remains.
Until eventually, there is distance.
Nothing truly happened between them, but something still feels lost.
There was no relationship. No dramatic ending.
Only a spark that never became a flame.
The Unburned Spark.

TWO PEOPLE. ONE LOOK.
Created as part of the STF × MCM collaboration, the project transforms MCM deadstock materials into a new total look and accessory.
The design was developed around two people and one shared silhouette.
It can be worn simultaneously by two individuals while still functioning as one cohesive look.
A physical expression of closeness, tension and the space that can exist between two people.
ROMANCE MEETS ARMOUR
The corset represents vulnerability, intimacy and the romantic ideal.
Its tight construction translates emotional tension into physical restriction, while delicate pearls reference tears and emotional fragility.
In contrast, the structured jacket with its strong shoulders acts as armour — protecting the softer core underneath.
Different sections form both garments, reflecting the changing stages, contradictions and emotional highs and lows of a relationship.

FROM DEADSTOCK TO NEW FORM
The project was developed using deadstock materials provided by MCM.
Existing materials were transformed into a new design, giving them a new purpose and form.
The collaboration brings together luxury, craftsmanship and upcycling within one look.
THE FILM
An unresolved connection between two strangers.
The campaign translates The Unburned Spark into movement, distance and intimacy, extending the story beyond the garment itself.
