The Vision behind ATELIER GRÉNA
Atelier Gréna, personal design, and deadstock textiles
Deadstock
Atelier Gréna works primarily with deadstock and reused textiles. Deadstock refers to fabrics and material stocks that have already been produced or purchased, often for another collection or project, and are no longer needed by the original buyer. Before these materials are thrown away or destroyed, they can be sold to distributors who make them available again for designers and small ateliers.
Why I choose deadstock
Using deadstock reduces the need for new textile production. It saves resources such as water, energy and raw materials, lowers the amount of dyeing and chemical treatments, and prevents high quality textiles from ending up in landfills. Deadstock supports a more responsible and circular approach to fashion and gives existing materials a new purpose. Atelier Gréna is proud to be part of this movement by giving value back to materials that already exist.
Fabric sourcing
We exclusively source our fabrics from fabrichouse.com, a trusted supplier of premium quality dead-stock and surplus fabrics, mostly of Italian origin.
They offer a large, immediately available selection (thousands of different fabrics), including high-quality wool, cotton, silks, linings, and more.
Opportunities and limitations
By working with deadstock, we give existing resources a new life – and you receive a unique piece made from limited-availability, premium fabrics.
A part of my personal story
Ever since I was a child, I have used clothing as my way to speak. I created outfits not only to look good, but to give my identity a clear voice. Fashion helped me express myself, protect myself and build confidence. It became my way of showing who I was, especially during difficult moments in my life.
For me, fashion is a language. It is a way to express emotions, experiences and the many versions of ourselves. When words were not enough, my clothing gave me strength. It helped me stay true to who I am and to who I wanted to become.
storytelling...
...the center of Atelier Gréna.
I do not design pieces only to make them visually beautiful. I design pieces that hold meaning, that carry memories from their previous life as fabric, and that encourage people to connect with their own stories. Every Design and every Project invites a moment of reflection. What does your outfit say about you. What story do you want to share with the world.
Atelier Gréna is my invitation to look at fashion with depth and intention. Not as something disposable, but as something that speaks for us long before we say a word.
