STF × TRAUFFER | 2024/25

TRADITION, UNBOUND.

When I first met Marc Trauffer, I discovered a side of his visual identity that felt far more rock than traditional folklore.

That contrast became the starting point.

The look combines references to Swiss traditional costume with the energy of rock, while questioning the gender codes historically embedded in clothing.

The result is a unisex stage look rooted in Swiss tradition, without being bound by it.

BUILT FOR THE STAGE

The vest takes inspiration from Trauffer's iconic stage coat and the traditional Berner Mutz.

Red and white bands, oversized golden buttons and chains reference Swiss costume, while adjustable bands along the sides and back create movement and allow the silhouette to adapt to different bodies.

The trousers blur the line between trousers and skirt. Smocked side panels create volume and movement, while black lace, red detailing and gold hardware connect the pieces into one visual language.

Matching lace gloves complete the look.

SWISS ROOTS. NEW FORM.

Swiss linen by Swiss Flax forms the foundation of the trousers, combined with organza to create their soft, skirt-like volume.

The vest transforms upcycled black denim, while deadstock lace and specially developed prints bring together traditional references and contemporary materials.

FIRST BRIEF. REAL CLIENT.

This was my first project at the Swiss Textile School and my first time developing a design within the visual world of a real client.

The challenge was finding the balance between an existing identity and my own creative perspective.

It became an early lesson in how design can respect a brief without losing its point of view.
